📢 Introduction

The Income Tax Department has introduced new PAN application forms under the Income-tax Act, 2025 and Income-tax Rules, 2026.

These changes will be effective from 01 April 2026, replacing the existing PAN forms (49A, 49AA, and Change Request forms).

❗ 1. Old Forms Discontinued

  • Forms 49A / 49AA / Correction forms will be discontinued after 31 March 2026

  • Aadhaar will be treated as:
    • ✔ Proof of Identity
    • ✔ Proof of Address
  • NOT valid as Date of Birth proof
